Joseph Elmore
Joseph Elmore retired from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years.  He received an Associates Degree in Aerospace Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Management from Newman University.  Commissioner Elmore spent another  20 years in the aerospace industry working for Boeing Aircraft, Lear Jet, and Spirit Aerospace. 
  
Commissioner Elmore has been active in his community since arriving in 1981.  He was chair of The Black Awareness Society at McConnell AFB, as well as helping to organize the New Alliance Social Club in order to raise funds for scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors enrolling into college.  Commissioner Elmore currently serves as a sidewalk counselor at the gate of a local abortion clinic; chair of the Sedgwick County  Black Republican Council, member of Kansas for Life, Voter Empowerment Committee, Precinct Committeeman in Derby, KS, and is a substitute teacher for the USD 259 school district.  Commissioner Elmore has been serving on the Kansas African American Affairs Commission since October 2013.
